Pat Austin ('86)

Pat Austin was a three-year member of the baseball team after transferring to WC from the University of Dayton. As a junior, he hit a .465 clip with 15 triples that are both program and NAIA single-season records. As a senior, Austin notched 76 hits and in June of 1986, got drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the fifth round. Austin made the Tigers' 40-man roster and went on to play with the St. Louis Cardinals, Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies in his career. In total, Austin tallied a .289 batting average with 10 home runs, 188 RBIs and 193 stolen bases in his six-year MLB career.
