Kortney (Buckland) Kin ('11)

All-American

Kin, who earned a degree in business administration, was a four-year member of the women's basketball program from 2006-10 under long-time Head Coach Jerry Scheve. A two-time All-American, Kin is fifth all-time in program history in scoring with 1,551 points. Lady Quaker Basketball (LQB) achieved a 80-32 record including an OAC Championship in 2006-07 and two NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament appearances during Kin's career. During her freshman season, Kin played a key role in WC's 25-5 overall record, 15-3 mark in conference games and an OAC Tournament title. LQB won its opening-round game 76-54 against Oglethorpe University (Georgia) before falling in the second round. The very next year, Kin and the Quakers returned to the NCAA Tournament, but lost by a single point (73-72) to Washington University in St. Louis. A three-time All-OAC honoree including garnering First Team recognition as both a junior and senior, Kin, who averaged just shy of 20 points per game as a senior and holds the record for points in a single game (45), was recently inducted into the Wyandot County Sports Hall of Fame.
