Mendenhall and Calhoun Earn Honorable Mention Accolades from the OAC Monday Morning

(WESTERVILLE, Ohio) – The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) announced their 2026 Baseball All-Conference Teams this morning and for the second season in a row, Wilmington had two players named as Honorable Mentions.

Senior J.C. Calhoun earned the second All-Conference nod of his career, while senior Trent Mendenhall was named for the first time as a Quaker.

At the plate, Calhoun was Wilmington's primary lead leadoff man. He led the team with 22 runs scored, 16 stolen bases, 12 walks and two triples. Calhoun was second on the team with 45 total bases, tied for second on the team with five doubles and tied for third on the team with one homerun. He also added 33 hits and nine runs batted in over 38 games played this season, with nine multi-hit games. In the outfield, he had three assists and 65 putouts.

Mendenhall led the Quakers on the mound with two wins over 16 appearances and five starts. The highlights of his season came in a complete game win at Hiram College, where he allowed just one run with five strikeouts. Another came in his final collegiate game vs. Marietta College where he threw 120 pitches to go seven innings against the Pioneers in a show of resilience. Despite the loss, he struck out six batters and gave Wilmington every chance to win. Mendenhall led the Quakers with 40.1 innings on the mound and was second with 35 strikeouts.
