Baseball Drops Tuesday Evening Contest at Mount St. Joseph

(BATAVIA, Ohio) – The Wilmington College baseball team dropped their road contest Tuesday night at Mount St. Joseph University at Midland Field, 12-5.

The Quakers found themselves tied with the Lions at 1-1 after the first two innings, but a seven-run bottom of the fourth from Mount St. Joseph pulled them ahead for good.

Wilmington scored their first run of the game in the top of the second with two outs. After a pair of walks, Eli Hollingsworth knocked in the run with a single. The fourth inning saw Wilmington take advantage of a walk and hit by pitch, along with a single to load the bases. They were brought in by a passed ball.

Jake Stephens came through with a two out single through the left side of the infield for Wilmington's third run of the game in the top of the seventh. In the ninth, the Quakers loaded the bases with no outs before scoring on a fielder's choice and a balk.
