(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's track & field team hosted the JENNASTRONG Track & Field Invitational #2 this afternoon on Beckett Track at Williams Stadium.
The men won the event with 154 points, after winning the first JENNASTRONG Track & Field Invitational with 168 points on April 5th.
Overall, 25 Quakers scored in the meet along with a pair of 4x100 Relay Teams. Leading the charge was
Brady Vilvens with 18 points. He won the High Jump with a clearance of 2.00m on his first attempt, just edging out his teammate
De'Anta Sanon, who cleared 2.00m on his third attempt for second and eight points. Vilvens passed at 2.03m and took three cracks at 2.07m but failed to clear it.
He had a leap of 13.17m in the Triple Jump on his fifth jump to finish in second and score eight points.
Asher LeBeau keeps improving every week in the 110 Meter Hurdles and 400 Meter Hurdles, scoring 12 total points. Today, he had career bests in both events, taking second in the 400 Hurdles at 59.64 seconds and fifth in the 110 Hurdles with a time of 18.24 seconds.
Carson Miles scored 11 total points for Wilmington between the High Jump and Long Jump. He finished second in the Long Jump with a leap of 6.10m on his fifth attempt. In the High Jump, he cleared 1.82m on his second attempt before going out at 1.87m for sixth place.
Also scoring in the High Jump for Wilmington along with Vilvens, Sanon and Miles was
Trey Sparks and
Zach McGuirt. Sparks took fourth for five points with a clearance of 1.87m on his first try before failing at 1.92m. McGuirt, in his first collegiate meet, was eighth for a point after clearing 1.67m.
Nathen Borgan improved on his career best and Division III best mark in the Hammer Throw, winning the event with a mark of 64.82m on attempt number two. Also scoring in the event for Wilmington was
JJ Durr with eight points at 61.58m on his final throw and
Justin Shuga with three points in sixth with a toss of 49.51m on his fourth attempt.
The Quakers had four athletes score in the Javelin Throw.
Cameron Chatfield finished fourth for five points with a mark of 30.99m on his third throw.
Chris Powers was fifth for four points with a mark of 30.10m on his fifth attempt.
Isaac Burns was sixth at 28.75m,
Sammy Scott took seventh at 23.11m and
Adam Moneypenny had a career best mark of 21.88m for eighth place.
Keegan Kidd ran a career best time of 1:56.91 for second place and eight points in the 800 Meter Run.
Brendan Bornemann also had a career best time in the 800, with a time of 2:03.41 for seventh place.
Donovan Mosley scored three points with a sixth-place finish in the 200 Meter Dash, running a career best time of 22.52 seconds. Sanon took eighth for one point at 22.58 seconds. Mosley also scored a point in the 100 Meter Dash, running a time of 11.24 seconds.
Noah Tobin and
Henry Hildebrandt competed in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase. Tobin won in 9:25.18 while Hildebrandt was second in 10:57.04.
Three Quakers scored in the Long Jump.
Ethan Brewer was sixth at 5.64m,
Cairo Vanterpool took seventh with a leap of 5.56m and
Khairi Noldon jumped 5.07m for eighth place. Noldon also scored six points in the Triple Jump at 11.80m on his first jump.
Tate Yoder finished the 1500 Meter Run in 4:07.17 to take sixth place for three points.
Logan Kent finished the 400 Meter Dash in 54.84 seconds for eighth place and one point while
Mike Soltis grabbed a point in the Shot Put at 12.83m.
The team of Kent, Sanon, Mosley, and
Mack Tillman were second in the 4x100 Meter Relay with a time of 42.88 seconds while
Samuel Alexander,
Isaiah Henderson,
Isaiah Early, and Chatfield took fourth in 48.36 seconds.
