(NEW ORLEANS, La.) – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their Track & Field All Academic Awards yesterday for the 2025 season.
The Quakers had eight total athletes honored with four from the men's program and four from the women's program. This is the most honorees for both programs since at least 2010. Both programs were named as All-Academic Teams for the sixth year in a row.
All athletes had to meet a certain criterion that included having a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 during the most recent grading period and meeting other athletic requirements.
The eight athletes recognized from Wilmington were
Nathen Borgan,
Faith Duncan,
JJ Durr,
Haley Cook,
Noah Tobin,
Hayden Setty,
Justin Shuga, and
Lucy Trout.
Borgan was not only named a track & field All-Academic Athlete for the second time in his career but he also was honored as the Men's Outdoor Field Scholar Athlete of the Year after winning the Hammer Throw National Championship in May.
After being named the Cross Country Women's Scholar Athlete of the Year in the fall, Duncan was honored as the Women's Indoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year. She won both the 3000 Meter and 5000 Meter Run National Championships in March. This was her first time being honored as a track & field All-Academic Athlete.
Durr earned the second track & field All-Academic Athlete honor of his career. He won the Weight Throw National Championship during the indoor season.
Cook was recognized as an All-Academic Athlete for the first time in her career. She was a part of two All Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) relay teams this season with one coming during the indoor season (DMR) and the other during the outdoor campaign (4x400).
Tobin was named an All-Academic Athlete during the cross country season and now earns his first nod for track & field. Highlights of his season were winning the OAC Championship in the outdoor and indoor 5000 Meter Run along with the 3000 Meter Steeplechase.
Setty earns the first track & field All-Academic Athlete honor of her career after a season in which she earned All-OAC honors in the outdoor 800 Meter Run and was a member of the All-OAC DMR and 4x400 Meter Relay teams.
Shuga was recognized for the second time in his career as an All-Academic Athlete. He qualified for nationals for the first time in his career during the indoor season in the Weight Throw where he was named a Second Team All-American.
Trout earns All-Academic Athlete honors for the first time in her career. She was All-OAC in the Hammer Throw during the outdoor season.
