(SPRINGFIELD, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's track & field team began their 2025-26 indoor season today at the Tiger Opener, hosted at Wittenberg University. The meet was not scored.
The Quakers best finish of the day came from freshman
Larreon Brodie, who won the Weight Throw in his first collegiate meet with a toss of 17.59m on his final attempt. This was a very impressive debut, as this throw would have netted him a sixth-place finish at last year's Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Indoor Championships.
Junior
Keegan Kidd took home a third-place finish for Wilmington in the 800 Meter Run, finishing the race in 1:58.30, which was just off his indoor 800 personal best of 1:58.17, set in February of last season.
Kidd was also a part of the Quakers 4x400 Meter Relay team that finished sixth with a time of 3:26.93. This team consisted of Kidd,
Donovan Mosley,
Griffin Roell, and
Brendan Bornemann.
A pair of Quakers finished fourth in
Tate Yoder and
Elijah Newman. Yoder set a new personal best time in the 5000 Meter Run, crossing the line in 14:54.33 to continue his upward momentum from cross country season. He was the best collegiate finisher in the event.
Wilmington's other fourth place finisher was junior
Elijah Newman, who had a toss of 13.74m in the Shot Put on his final attempt. This was a huge personal best for Newman, as he had never broken the 12-meter barrier in his career.
Sophomore
Ayden Clemons finished behind Newman in fifth with a final toss of 13.57m for a personal best, as he had never had a better throw then 13.03m in his career.
Sophomore
Trey Sparks finished eighth in the High Jump with a clearance of 1.88m, which is a new personal best. Senior
Brandon Mitchell also had an eighth place for Wilmington in the Weight Throw, with a new personal best toss of 13.73m on his final attempt.
What's Up Next
The Quakers are off until January 16th, where they travel to Heidelberg University for the Larry Brown Invitational.
