Moore and Yoder Lead the Way Heading into the OAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships This Weekend

(NEW CONCORD, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's track & field team begins the 2026 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships tomorrow morning, hosted at Muskingum University.

On day one, the field events begin at 11:00 A.M. and track events begin at 3:10 P.M. Day two, field events start at 11:00 A.M. and track events start at 3:00 P.M.

After earning All-OAC honors at the indoor championships, seniors Gabe Moore and Tate Yoder along with freshman Larreon Brodie look to be the top performers for the Quakers this weekend.

Coming into the championships, Moore is 2nd in the OAC in both the 5,000- and 10,000-Meter Runs. He won the 5000 indoor conference championship and looks to back up his performance in that event. He finished under 15 minutes in the 5000 for the first time in his career outdoors at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships, crossing the line in 14:59.42.

At the WashU Distance Carnival to kick off the season, he ran the 10,000 in a time of 30:55.93, being one of just two athletes in the conference to break 31 minutes. He also sits fifth in the event in the Great Lakes region. Moore's best conference finish outdoors was sixth place in last year's 10,000 Meter Run, hosted at Wilmington, as he looks for his first All-Conference outdoor honor.

Yoder holds the number one time in the 5000 Meter Run heading into the event at 14:57.38, a career best outdoor time he set at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships. He was All-Conference indoors in the 3000 Meter Run, where he finished in second place.

Yoder is fifth in the 10,000 Meter Run this outdoor season, running a career best time of 31:36.44 at the WashU Distance Carnival to kick off his season in Missouri. This is also ninth best in the Great Lakes region.

Freshman Larreon Brodie heads into his first OAC Outdoor Championships, coming off a third-place All-Conference indoor finish in the Weight Throw. Transitioning to the Hammer Throw, he looks to make his mark, as he sits second in the conference in the event at 53.85 meters. He hit this mark at the Don McGarey Invitational in Georgia to start off his outdoor season, and it is also the sixth best throw in the Great Lakes region.

Also sitting in the Top-10 in multiple events heading into championship weekend is junior Carson Miles. He has had a consistent season in both the High Jump and Long Jump, setting his career best in the long jump last weekend. He is sixth in the High Jump with a clearance of 1.87 meters and ninth in the Long Jump with his career best mark of 6.59 meters.

Sophomore Gustav Jonsson is third in the Discus Throw heading into this weekend after a career best toss of 44.15 meters at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships a few weeks ago.

Senior Darryl Story set the Quakers program record in the 100 Meter Dash at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships, a time of 10.61 seconds that sits him fourth in the conference in the event and seventh in the Great Lakes region.

Sophomore Trey Sparks is seventh in the conference in the High Jump with a clearance of 1.86 meters at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships.
