(NEW CONCORD, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's track & field team completed day one of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships this evening in seventh place as a team with 13 points.
Senior
Gabe Moore led the charge for Wilmington with his first career All-OAC performance outdoors, finishing third in the 10,000 Meter Run in a time of 31:07.83. He finished just behind the second-place finisher Payne Ratliff from Otterbein University, who crossed the line in 31:05.02. This gave the Quakers six points as a team.
Junior
Elijah Newman had a huge personal best in the Discus Throw, unleashing a toss of 41.92 meters on his second attempt of the event. This is his first time breaking 41 meters in his career, as he took fifth place and scored four points for Wilmington.
The final scorers during the day were the Quakers 4x800 Meter Relay team of
Keegan Kidd,
Tate Yoder,
Brendan Bornemann, and
Griffin Roell. They finished in sixth place with a season best time of 7:58.08 for three points.
Senior
Darryl Story won his heat of the 100 Meter Dash in a time of 10.83 seconds to qualify for tomorrow's 100 Meter Dash finals.
