(SPRINGFIELD, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's track & field team competed in their final meet before the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championships next week in Ada, Ohio at Ohio Northern University. They were at the Wittenberg Invitational in an unscored meet.
Wilmington had three of the top four finishers in the Weight Throw in
JJ Durr,
Nathen Borgan, and
Justin Shuga. Durr retook his national lead in the event with a mark of 19.90m on his second throw of the day to win. Borgan had a toss of 19.23m on his final throw of the day for third place, while Shuga hit 18.09m on his fifth throw for a fourth-place finish.
Shuga and
Mike Soltis both had Top-8 finishes in the Shot Put. Shuga was fifth with a mark of 14.20m on his fourth throw while Soltis hit 13.98m on his third throw for seventh place.
The Triple Jump saw
Khairi Noldon finish in sixth place with a leap of 12.16m on his second jump.
Brady Vilvens and
Trey Sparks both finished in the Top-8 of the High Jump. Vilvens took second with an indoor best clearance of 1.99m before bowing out at 2.05m. Sparks cleared 1.84m on his final attempt for eighth place before falling out at 1.89m.
The Quakers 4x400 Relay team of
De'Anta Sanon,
Donovan Mosley,
Logan Kent, and
Keegan Kidd took second place with a time of 3:29.13. In the 500 Meter Dash,
Brendan Bornemann ran a career best time in the event at 1:10.78 for eighth place.
Sanon finished fourth in the 60 Meter Dash prelims with a time of 7.03 seconds before improving and taking third in the finals at 6.99 seconds. This was his best time of the season in the event.
