(TIFFIN, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's track & field team has been in action over the past two days at the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan and The Robinson Family Open, hosted by Tiffin University.
Noah Tobin and
Gabe Moore ran solid 5,000 Meter race personal bests yesterday at the GVSU Big Meet. Tobin finished in 14:27.90 and took sixth while Moore ran 15:05.42, as they both ran in races stacked full of great runners. Tobin's time, which was converted to 14:37.19 for track size is good for 21st in Division III this season. Moore's time is fourth in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC).
De'Anta Sanon competed in the 400 Meter Dash and ran a personal best time of 51.26 seconds, which gave him ninth place.
The team of
Tate Yoder, Sanon,
Keegan Kidd, and Tobin ran the Distance Medley Relay this morning at the GVSU Big Meet – Saturday edition, and they finished 19th with a time of 10:20.18. This time is a season best for the Quakers.
At Tiffin today, the Quakers had several solid performances.
Justin Shuga had a pair of outings in the Weight Throw and Shot Put. In his section of the Weight Throw, he hit 18.19m on his first throw and finished third before an eighth-place finish in the Shot Put at 13.62m.
JJ Durr and
Nathen Borgan both competed in the Gold Division of the Weight Throw and were the only Division III competitors in the field. They performed well, as Durr took sixth at 19.68m and Borgan hit a career best mark of 19.65m for seventh. They now firmly sit as the two best weight throwers in Division III this season.
Henry Hildebrandt ran a personal best time of 9:40.68 in the 3,000 Meter Run and took second place.
Khairi Noldon competed in both the Long Jump and the Triple Jump. He finished 14th in the Long Jump but took fourth in the Triple Jump with a personal best leap of 12.34m on his third attempt.
Trey Sparks set a new personal best clearance in the High Jump of 1.86m, as he cleared it on his final attempt.
