In game one, the Pioneers scored on a sacrifice fly in the first and added two runs in the second on a double steal and an RBI-single. The Quakers got two runs back in the top of the third on an RBI-double to left center from Jesse Reliford that scored Tyler Shaneyfelt and a Marietta fielding effort, but Marietta answered by plate four runs, three of which came on a home run from Trent Castle, in the bottom half of the inning to take a 7-2 lead after three complete.

 

The Pioneers would add a single run in the fourth, and all but put the game away with a six-run fifth inning. The Quakers would plate three runs on the eighth on RBI hits from Dominic Depa and Jacob Kalt as well as a sacrifice fly from Jared Lammert.

 

Aaron Boster's record fell to an even 3-3 on the season as the sophomore allowed 10 earned runs on nine hits in four innings. GlenAllen Anderson and Tre Nixson also pitched for WC. For Marietta, Trey Valentine improved to 8-0 on the season, allowing an earned run on four hits in five innings. Isaac Dunford, Matt Kahn, Kail Hill and Dawson Pierce all pitched an inning of relief for the Pioneers

 

Jesse Reliford, Depa and Kalt all had two hits for the Quakers while six Pioneers had multi-hit contests with Castle and Carson each going 3-for-4.

 

In game two, Marietta piled on 31 hits in six offensive innings that included a 17-run sixth that featured two grand slams. Wilmington scored its lone run on an RBI-fielder's choice from Noah Martin in the second.

 

Eight Quaker pitchers threw in game two with David Ernst getting the loss. AJ Wolf was the lone WC hurler to not surrender a run, recording two outs and surrendering two hits. Brett Carson improved to 4-1 on the season for Marietta while Griffin Malick and Sam Matthews both pitched an inning of relief.

 

Offensively, 11 Pioneers had multi-hit games with four players hitting home runs. Zach Boyd finished 4-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
