(TIFFIN, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's and women's track and field teams travel to Tiffin, Ohio to compete in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend.
Field events begin at Noon tomorrow while track events start at 4:30 P.M. followed by a 10:00 A.M. field start time on Saturday morning and a 2:30 P.M. start for the track events.
Women's Preview
The Weight Throw is one of the Quakers strongest events. Senior
Lucy Trout sits in third in the conference with a 16.25m mark as senior
Amy Myers is right behind her in fourth with a 15.94m toss. Junior
Mykell Bowen sits in eighth place, with a 15.60m effort. Senior
Amber Corll is in eleventh at 14.87m. Trout is fifth in the region with Myers next to her in sixth. Nationally, Trout sits in thirty-seventh place with her 16.25m throw. In the Shot Put,
Kaitlynn Hickey is eighth in the conference, with an 11.69m mark.
Kyla Rush will be key for Wilmington in the Triple Jump and Long Jump. Rush is fifth in the triple jump at 10.20m. She sits at eighteenth in the long jump at 4.92m.
Morgan Blair has been dominant in the distance events this year. The freshman currently is second in the 3k (Converted 10:20.40) and 5k (18:19.03). She is also third in the conference in the Mile with a converted 5:12.86.
Freshman
Andria Pollazek has been key for the Quakers in the high jump this year. Pollazek is tied for fourth in the conference at 1.60m in the event and ninth in the region.
Hayden Setty is top five in both the 500 and 800 meter runs in the OAC. The junior sits in fourth place in the 500, with a converted time of 1:20.21, while she in in fifth in the 800 at 2:22.12.
Men's Preview
The duo of seniors
Tate Yoder and
Gabe Moore are dominant in the distance events. Yoder sits at first in the conference in the 3,000 Meter Run with his 8:36.22 time he set on January 31 at the Steemer Showcase. Moore is first in the 5,000 Meter Run with his 14:52.00 time he also set at the Steemer Showcase. Yoder is third in the conference in the 5k with a time of 14:54.33.
In the region, Yoder is eighth in both the 3,000- and 5,000-Meter runs. Moore is in sixth place in the 5k.
Freshman
Larreon Brodie has had a dominant rookie campaign. Brodie is second in the conference in the Weight Throw with a 17.59m mark, and he is the only freshmen in the top ten in the conference. Around the region, Brodie is in fifth place and the only freshmen in the top fifteen of the region. Nationally, he is in forty-sixth place.
In the 400- and 500-Meter Runs,
Donovan Mosley sits in ninth place in both events. He has a converted time of 50.31 seconds in the 400 Meter Dash and a converted 1:06.69 in the 500 Meter Dash. Freshman
Griffin Roell is seventh in the conference in the 500 Meter Dash with a converted 1:06.29 mark.
In the 60 Meters, the Quakers have a trio of top 12 finishers.
De'Anta Sanon is eighth in the conference with a 7.00 time as
Darryl Story is just behind him in ninth with a 7.04. Mosley is in eleventh at 7.07 seconds.
For the High Jump,
Trey Sparks is tied for eighth in the conference with a 1.90m jump. His 1.90m mark is tied for twenty-first in the region.
