(DELAWARE, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's track & field team had a great showing this weekend at the All-Ohio Championships, hosted at Ohio Wesleyan University. The Quakers finished in sixth place overall with 61 points and nine Quakers scoring points individually along with a pair of relay teams.
Five Quakers were named All-Ohio as top-three finishers in their respective events. Leading the charge for Wilmington was senior
Darryl Story, who not only won the 100 Meter Dash in 10.61 seconds but broke a 12-year-old program record in the event, set by Jeremy Duncan in 2014 (10.72 seconds). He followed up on this with another personal best time in the 200 Meter Dash of 22.21 seconds, to finish in fifth place and end his weekend with 14 points for the Quakers.
Tate Yoder and
Gustav Jonsson both had second place finishes this weekend. Yoder ran a time of 14:57.38 in the 5,000 Meter Run for eight points while Jonsson put up a solid personal best in the Discus Throw of 44.15m for eight points.
Earning third place marks were
Larreon Brodie and
Gabe Moore. Brodie finished with six points in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 49.57m on his second throw, while Moore finished behind Yoder in the 5,000 Meter Run in 14:59.42.
Rounding out the individual points for Wilmington were
Donovan Mosley,
Trey Sparks,
Carson Miles, and
Keegan Kidd. Mosley tied his personal best from last week in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 49.92 seconds for fifth place.
Sparks cleared 1.86 meters in the High Jump for fifth place while
Carson Miles finished just behind him in sixth at 1.86 meters, doing it on his second attempt while Sparks cleared it on his first try.
Keegan Kidd was seventh in the 800 Meter Run in a time of 1:57.14. The Quakers 4x400 Meter Relay team of Kidd,
Griffin Roell, Mosley, and
Brendan Bornemann took sixth place in a time of 3:22.65. Amare Middleton, Story, Mosley, and
Samuel McEntire were sixth in the 4x100 Meter Relay in 42.98 seconds.
