(ANDERSON, Ind.) – The Wilmington College men's swimming team won their first dual of 2026 in close fashion Friday night at Anderson University (Ind.), defeating the Ravens 93-85. This moves Wilmington to 3-2 overall this season.
Three Quakers won one event during the dual in seniors
John Good and
Sondre Haugen, along with sophomore
Parker Basener. This trio and junior
Jo Pedersen won the 200 Yard Medley Relay to start the day in a time of 1:38.53, winning by over 10 seconds.
Good won his lone individual event, the 50 Yard Freestyle in a time of 22.58 seconds. He teamed up with Basener, Haugen, and Pedersen again in the final event of the night, the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. They won by over four seconds in a time of 1:30.00, being led by Haugen's 21.89 second anchor leg.
Haugen won the 500 Yard Freestyle by over 11 seconds in a time of 4:50.11. Basener won the 100 Yard Breaststroke by over seven seconds, touching the wall in 1:03.88.
Carson Duerk and
Nathan Duerk both had one second place finish during the meet. Carson took second in the 200 Yard Freestyle, swimming a time of 2:00.66 while Nathan was second at 1:10.91 in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. Carson was also third in the 100 Yard Freestyle in a time of 55.10 seconds, just behind Anderson's Nic Doepner, who touched the wall in 54.86 seconds.
Pedersen finished the 100 Yard IM in second place with a time of 54.74 seconds, just behind the Ravens Noah Singleton, who out touched him in 54.44 seconds. Junior
Ryan Washburn was second in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 59.76 seconds while freshman
Bo Bindewald was second in the 100 Yard Backstroke, touching the wall in 57.25 seconds.
Junior
Bryce Hensley was third in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 6:04.18 and freshman
Andrew Patterson took third place in the 200 Yard Freestyle in 2:08.42.
