(AKRON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's swimming team completed day three of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championships Friday night in third place with 331 points.
For the second night in a row, seniors
Sondre Haugen and
John Good were named All-OAC in their respective events. Haugen won the 200 Yard Freestyle for the second year in a row and earned All-OAC honors in the event for the third straight season. He won in a time of 1:39.78 after setting the OAC record in the event last season at 1:39.01. Haugen won the race by nearly two seconds.
Good competed in the 100 Yard Backstroke and took second place at 51.08 seconds, taking home his second All-OAC medal of the championships.
The other best finishers of the day for Wilmington were junior
Jo Pedersen and sophomore
Parker Basener in the 400 Yard IM. Pedersen finished fifth in a time of 4:15.71 while Basener finished right behind him in sixth at 4:15.92. Pedersen also competed in the A finals of the 100 Yard Breaststroke, where he took seventh place, touching the wall in 59.52 seconds.
Freshman
Bo Bindewald joined Good in the A finals of the 100 Yard Backstroke after a 54.34 second performance in the prelims. He finished eighth in the finals in 54.63 seconds.
The 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Bindewald, Basener,
Ryan Washburn, and
Jake Stein took third in the event with a time of 1:40.68.
