Men's Track & Field Competes in Final Meet Before Nationals

(ROCK ISLAND, Ill.) – The Wilmington College men's track & field team had four athletes compete at the Augustana Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier Wednesday, hosted by Augustana College.

In the Hammer Throw, seniors Nathen Borgan, JJ Durr, and Justin Shuga were all in action. Borgan and Durr were in the Invite portion of the event while Shuga competed in the Collegiate heat. Borgan continued his dominant season, winning with a new personal best throw of 66.12m on his second throw of the competition. This bumps him up to the fourth best throw all time in Division III history, as he passes Mount Union's Sean Donnelly for the best Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) mark of all time.

Durr smashed his previous personal best mark in the event, as he took second place at 64.33m on his third attempt. Borgan and Durr have the top two marks in Division III this season.

Shuga finished sixth in his portion of the Hammer Throw at 54.98m on his final throw of the competition. Also competing for Wilmington in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase was graduate student Noah Tobin, who finished 15th with a time of 9:27.79.
