(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's track & field team concluded day one of the OAC Track & Field Championships in third place with 43 points.
Graduate Student
Noah Tobin competed in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase for the first time in his career at the OAC Outdoor Championships. He turned in a career best performance in the event, winning the OAC Championship by just under 13 seconds in a time of 9:08.92. This gave Wilmington 10 points.
Winning the 10,000 Meter Run for the second season in a row and becoming a four-time All-OAC performer in the event was graduate student
Simon Heys. He won the event by just under 10 seconds with a time of 31:07.56 to score 10 points for the Quakers.
Also scoring points for Wilmington in the 10,000 Meter Run was junior
Gabe Moore, who ran a career best time of 31:49.38 to finish in sixth and score three points.
The Quakers had a pair of scorers in both the High Jump and Discus Throw. Senior
Brady Vilvens cleared 1.97m to finish in fourth place and score five points in the high jump while junior
De'Anta Sanon cleared 1.94m to take fifth place and score four points.

Justin Shuga hit a mark of 42.99m on his third throw for fourth place and five points while his teammate and fellow senior
JJ Durr took sixth place for three points at 41.98m in his fourth attempt.

Brendan Bornemann finished sixth in the 4x800 Meter Relay to score three points and set a new season best time for the program.
Sanon qualified for tomorrow's finals in the 100 Meter Dash with a fifth-place finish in prelims at 10.90 seconds. Also qualifying for finals tomorrow was freshman
Asher LeBeau in the 400 Meter Hurdles, with a new career best time of 57.78 seconds for a seventh-place finish in prelims.
