Tobin and Weight Throw Leads Quakers in Day One at OAC Indoor Championships

(ADA, Ohio) – The Wilmington College Men's Track & Field team finished day one at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Indoor Championships Friday in fourth place with 38 points.

The Quakers most successful event of the day was the Weight Throw, where they went 1, 2, 3. JJ Durr broke the 20-meter barrier for the first time in his career, tossing the weight 20.04m on his second attempt of the afternoon. He beat his teammate Nathen Borgan, who hit 18.85m on his third throw. Justin Shuga took third with a personal best toss of 18.55m on his third attempt.

This is Durr's fourth straight season with a top-two finish in the Weight Throw at the OAC indoor championships. He took second in 2022, won in 2023, was second in 2024, and won again in 2025.

Borgan has also scored all four years in the event. He was seventh in 2022, third in 2023, won the event last year, before taking second in 2025. This is Shuga's best finish in the event and second time scoring after a fifth-place finish in 2024.

The 5000 Meter Run saw Noah Tobin earn the first indoor OAC championship of his career with a time of 14:50.32, beating John Carroll University's Dominic Delmoro by over nine seconds. This is his second time scoring in the 5000, as he took fourth in the event in 2023.

Gabe Moore continued his breakout season with a time of 15:25.24 to finish in seventh place and score points for the first time ever at either the indoor or outdoor OAC Championships.

The Quakers also scored two points with a seventh-place finish in the Distance Medley Relay, finishing in 10:45.01. The team consisted of Tate Yoder, De'Anta Sanon, Keegan Kidd, and Tobin.
