Men's Basketball Team and Five Individuals Earn Academic Honors from NABC

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced their 2025-26 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards and NABC Honors Court this afternoon.

The Quakers men's basketball team was honored with the team academic excellence award for the fifth straight season, which is achieved by ending the academic year with a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above.

Five individuals were honored for the Quakers on the Honors Court. Four were recognized for the second time in seniors Collin Barker, Jed Smith, Mauricio Diaz, and Zach McGuirt, with junior Ben Golan being honored for the first time as a Quaker.

You earn this distinction by being a junior, senior, or graduate student that finished the academic year with a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher.

Golan, Barker, and Smith are all Education majors, while Diaz majored in Criminal Justice and McGuirt in Mathematics and Data Science.

These five were named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference earlier this year, while Golan, McGuirt, and Smith were also named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District earlier this summer.
