(GREENWOOD, Ind.) – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced their 2026 Academic All-District Softball teams this afternoon and Wilmington College had five athletes represented, which is the most that can be recognized from a single school.
To be considered, you must be a sophomore or higher both academically and athletically and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (GPA). Athletically, you must have done one of the following: competed in at least 90 percent of your team's games, started at least 66 percent of your team's games, made at least 17 appearances in the circle, or pitched 35 innings in the circle.
The five athletes honored were seniors
Belle Baughman,
Alasandra Spears and
Maddie Starnes along with junior
Ashley Jo Hardesty and sophomore
Alaina Eldridge.
This is the second time being honored for Baughman, and the first time for Spears, Starnes, Hardesty, and Eldridge.
Baughman is a Business Administration-Finance major who made 18 appearances in the circle for the Quakers this season, pitching 64.2 innings. Spears is a Criminal Justice and Psychology major at Wilmington who started all 40 games this season for the Quakers. Starnes is an Exercise Science major who appeared in 37 games this season for Wilmington, making 34 starts.
Hardesty and Eldridge both started all 40 games for the Quakers this season and both major in Primary Education at Wilmington.
