Softball Drops Final Regular Season Games at Transylvania Sunday

(LEXINGTON, Ky.) – The Wilmington College softball team lost their final regular season games of the season this afternoon at Transylvania University, 7-2 and 7-5. They finish the regular season with a 19-20 overall record.

Game 1 – Transylvania Defeats Wilmington, 7-2
The Quakers briefly led in the game after Megan Spence reached on an error, which allowed two runners to score and give them a 2-1 advantage in the top of the fourth inning. Wilmington had runners in scoring position in two of the the final three innings but couldn't plate any more runs.

Game 1 Notables
Game 2 – Transylvania Defeats Wilmington, 7-5
An error allowed Wilmington to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Transylvania took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the second frame.

They scored on an error in the top of the third before an Alasandra Spears double scored a run in the fifth to tie the game at 3-3. The Pioneers grabbed the game with a four-run inning in the bottom of the sixth.

Game 2 Notables What's Up Next
The Quakers are in Alliance, Ohio at the University of Mount Union for the Ohio Athletic   Conference (OAC) Tournament beginning on Thursday afternoon.

They battle the Heidelberg University Student Princes in their first game of the single elimination tournament beginning at 4:00 P.M.

They split their season series with Heidelberg in Wilmington back on March 28th.
