(ALLIANCE, Ohio) – The Wilmington College softball team finished up their 2026 season this afternoon in the opening round of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament with a loss to the Heidelberg University Student Princes, 9-1. The Quakers finish their season with an overall record of 19-21.
Alaina Eldridge hit a two out double in the first inning to give the Quakers a chance to score, but they couldn't bring her to the plate. Wilmington loaded the bases on three hits in the top of the third with one out. Eldridge brought in
Maddie Starnes with a sacrifice fly to cut their deficit to 3-1, but that was their only run to come in.
Wilmington had a chance to extend the game in the top of the fifth after
Alasandra Spears was hit by a pitch and Eldridge singled her to third base, but a strikeout ended the contest.
