(WESTERVILLE, Ohio) – Wilmington College football fifth-year return specialist Darryl Story has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time this season. Following Camden Marx's recognition last week, this makes back-to-back weeks in which the Quakers have had the OAC Special Teams Player of the Week
Story, a Tipp City, Ohio, native and Northridge High School graduate, continued to establish himself as one of the most accomplished returners in Wilmington football history during Saturday's matchup against the Mount Union Purple Raiders.
For the second time this season, Story electrified the Quakers' special teams unit with a kickoff return touchdown, taking one back 94 yards against Mount Union. The fifth-year standout finished the afternoon with a career-high 186 kickoff return yards on four attempts, averaging 46.5 yards per return.
With his latest touchdown, Story now has three career kickoff return touchdowns and one punt return touchdown, giving him four career return touchdowns for the Green and White.
Story's performance has also placed him among the nation's elite return specialists. His two kickoff return touchdowns are tied for the NCAA Division III lead, as he is one of just six players nationally to accomplish this feat this season. Additionally, Story ranks fourth in Division III with 523 kickoff return yards.
The honor marks Story's second OAC Special Teams Player of the Week selection in his career, further recognizing his impact on Wilmington's special teams unit throughout his time as a Quaker.
Story and the Quakers return to Williams Stadium on Saturday to host the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets on Halloween.Â
