Football Fights Past Muskingum for First Win Over the Muskies Since 2008

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College football team fought till the end for a 42-35 victory over the Muskingum University Fighting Muskies Saturday evening in Williams Stadium. This is their first win over Muskingum since 2008.

It looked promising for the Quakers early on, as they ran out to a 31-7 lead late in the first half. Touchdowns came on rushes of nine yards from senior Bryce Stout, 19 yards from freshman Kaiden Molnar, and three yards from sophomore Jalen Jordan, before a 16 yard pass to junior Amare Middleton.

Combine this with 29 yard and 41-yard field goals from sophomore Camden Marx and the Quakers held a 34-14 lead heading into the halftime break.

Muskingum immediately cut the lead down to six points in the third at 34-28 after a pair of touchdown passes to standout freshman Ryan Lamonica with 8:32 remaining in the third.

The Quakers clawed back with another 16-yard Molnar touchdown run for a 42-28 lead. Muskingum made it interesting down the stretch with a touchdown for a 42-35 deficit, but a late Nathan Nemeth interception sealed the first conference win of the season for Wilmington.
