Four Quakers Win An Event at the Larry Brown Invitational Friday

(TIFFIN, Ohio) - The Wilmington College women's track and field team competed at the unscored Larry Brown Invitational Friday, hosted by Heidelberg University.

Four Quakers won events during the day in Kyla Rush, Hayden Setty, Mykell Bowen, and Andria Pollazek. Rush set a new career best indoors in the triple jump, winning the event with a leap of 10.20m on her final attempt. She also set a new indoor career best in the long jump, finishing fifth with a leap of 4.92m on her fifth attempt. Rush also took fifth place in the 60 Meter Dash in a time of 8.34 seconds.

Pollazek won the High Jump with a new career best clearance of 1.60m, clearing the height on her first attempt. She also took seventh in the Long Jump with a leap of 4.71m on her second attempt.

Junior Hayden Setty won the 500 Meter Run in a time of 1:23.77, just missing out on a new career best time in the event. She won by over eight seconds.

The Quakers dominated the Weight Throw, with four of the top-eight finishers. Mykell Bowen won the event with a new career best mark of 15.60m on her third attempt. Senior Lucy Trout took third at 14.72m on her first attempt and senior Amber Corll was fourth with a mark of 14.62m on attempt number one. Senior Amy Myers finished in sixth place at 13.99m on her fifth toss.

Freshman Morgan Blair had a solid day for the Quakers. She finished second in the Mile run at 5:37.28 before following it up with a third-place finish in the 3000 Meter Run, crossing the line in 11:07.31.

The Shot Put saw a pair of Quakers in the top-five in senior Kaitlynn Hickey and freshman Jana Metz. Hickey took second with a mark of 11.57m on attempt number five and Metz was fifth at 10.62m, which bests her mark from the first meet of the season.

Sophomore Sophia Hardwick finished the 60 Meter Hurdles in third place in a time of 10.25 seconds. Freshman Anna Armstrong competed in her first collegiate track and field meet and had a seventh-place finish in the Mile run at 6:51.97.

What's Up Next
