Women's Track & Field Finishes Fifth at OAC Outdoor Championships Friday

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's track & field team finished day two of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Track & Field Championships in fifth place with 54 total points. They trailed Otterbein University by one point heading into the final event, where the 4x400 Meter Relay team scored eight points to firmly put them ahead of the Cardinals. This is Wilmington's best finish outdoors since the 2022 season.

Leading the way on day two was Chloe Lovett, who had the top time heading into today's finals of the 400 Meter Hurdles. She finished second with a career best time of 1:03.18 to earn the first individual All-OAC honor of her Quakers career and score eight points. She is now ranked 30th nationally in the event.

The Quakers 4x400 Meter Relay team consisting of Lovett, Haley Cook, Hayden Setty, and Chloe Sutton took second place for eight points with a time of 3:57.90, which is a season best time for Wilmington.

Scoring six points each and being named Third Team All-OAC in their respective events were Hayden Setty and Lucy Trout. Setty ran a career best time of 2:15.98 in the 800 Meter Run to take third place and earn the first individual All-Conference honor of her career.

Trout hit 49.58 meters in the Hammer Throw on her second attempt to finish third and become a two-time All-Conference performer in the event, after taking second last season.

Mykell Bowen was fifth in the Hammer Throw for four points with a toss of 47.13m on her first attempt. She scored eight total points in the meet after finishing fifth in the discus throw yesterday.

The Quakers 4x100 Meter Relay team of Cook, Kyla Rush, Sutton, and Lovett finished fifth in a Quakers season best time of 49.08 seconds to score four points.

Wilmington's final scorer of the day was Amy Myers in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 45.86m on her fifth throw for sixth place and three points.

The Quakers are back in action next Friday at the Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet hosted at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio.
