(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's track & field team concluded day one of the OAC Track & Field Championships in a tie for sixth place with 15 points.
For the second season in a row, junior
Faith Duncan claimed the 10,000 Meter Run crown, dominating the competition with a time of 35:41.31. She beat the second-place finisher by almost three minutes to score 10 points for the Quakers.
The other highest scorer for Wilmington was sophomore
Mykell Bowen, who took fifth in the Discus Throw with a mark of 38.21m on her fifth attempt to score four points in her OAC Outdoor Championships debut.
Wilmington's final scorer on day one was freshman
Sophia Hardwick, who scored one point with an eighth-place finish in the Javelin Throw. She posted a mark of 33.61m on her fourth attempt of the competition.
Other highlights for Wilmington included freshman
Chloe Lovett in the 400 Meter Hurdle prelims. She finished in a time of 1:04.93 for the top time heading into tomorrow's finals.
Graduate Student
Haley Cook just missed out on tomorrow's 400 Meter Dash finals, finishing ninth with a time of 59.09 seconds in the third heat. Cora Liskai of the University of Mount Union just edged her time in the first heat at 59.08 seconds.
