Women's Track & Field Wins JENNASTRONG Invitational #2 Saturday in Williams Stadium

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's track & field team hosted the JENNASTRONG Track & Field Invitational #2 this afternoon on Beckett Track at Williams Stadium.

For the first time during the outdoor season and second time this season overall (Lions Invitational, Jan. 18), Wilmington College won the meet with 147 points as a team.

Leading the way with 21 total points was graduate student Haley Cook. She was victorious in both the 400 Meter Dash and Long Jump, while finishing eighth in the 200 Meter Dash. Her times of 58.55 seconds in the 400 and 26.98 seconds in the 200, along with a leap of 5.00m were all season bests.

The trio of Mykell Bowen, Amy Myers, and Kyla Rush all scored 16 points for Wilmington. Bowen won the Discus Throw with a mark of 37.20m on her third attempt while she took third in the Hammer Throw at 44.63m on her first throw.

Myers won the Hammer Throw at 47.26m on her third throw and took third in the Discus Throw with a mark of 32.13m on her final attempt of the afternoon. Rush won the Triple Jump at 9.82m on her fourth attempt, while taking third in the Long Jump with a leap of 4.69m on her third jump of competition.

Sophia Hardwick scored 15 points for Wilmington. She won the Javelin Throw at 33.53m on her second attempt. In the 100 Meter Hurdles, Hardwick took fourth in a time of 17.31 seconds.

Kaitlynn Hickey had 13 points between the Shot Put and Hammer Throw. She won the Shot Put with a mark of 10.99m on attempt five and was sixth in the Hammer Throw at 42.06m on her second throw.

Hayden Setty had a big day for Wilmington, as a pair of career bests led to her scoring 12 points. She was second in the 400 Meter Dash at 58.68 seconds, just behind her teammate Cook's time of 58.55 seconds. In the 200, she finished in fifth place at 26.76 seconds.

Precious Orock had nine points for Wilmington, with eight in the Shot Put and one in the Hammer Throw. She had a mark of 10.94m in the Shot Put on her fourth attempt. Orock hit a personal best mark of 40.87m in the Hammer Throw on attempt number two.

Both Chloe Sutton and Lucy Trout scored eight points for the Quakers. Sutton ran a 13.03 second 100 for third place and took seventh in the 200 Meter Dash at 26.82 seconds. Trout finished second in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 46.98m during her fifth throw.

Peyton Robey had a personal best mark of 32.07m in the Hammer Throw, while also scoring three points with a sixth-place finish in the Shot Put at 9.84m on her fourth attempt.

The team of Rush, Cook, Chloe Lovett, and Sutton just snuck by the University of Indianapolis in the 4x100 Meter Relay with a time of 50.27 seconds for 10 points.
