(WESTERVILLE, Ohio) – After a weekend in which she bettered her fourth outdoor program record and cemented her place as the top distance runner in Division III,
Faith Duncan was named Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
This is the first time Duncan has earned the honor this outdoor season and the eighth time she has been honored in her career. She was named the OAC Cross Country Runner of the Week four times during the fall, OAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week twice during the winter, and OAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week once last spring.
At the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Virginia, Duncan ran a 16:12.17 5000m, finishing seventh in a field littered with the best runners in NCAA Division I. That performance also puts her five seconds in front of the second-best runner in Division III, and breaks her outdoor record, which she set at the WashU Outdoor Carnival back in March 2024.
At the time of publishing, Duncan holds the top times in the 5000m and 10,000m and the 22nd best in the 1500m—enough to qualify for nationals in each event. Duncan holds the outdoor school records for the 10,000m, 5000m, 1500m, and as a member of the 4x800m Relay.
Duncan will be competing this Saturday at the JennaStrong Invitational at Williams Stadium.
