(WESTERVILLE, Ohio)—With a 61-meter (201 feet) hammer throw at Otterbein,
JJ Durr received this week's Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Durr's 61.22-meter throw, roughly 200-feet 10-inches, came on his final throw. Durr finished second at the Otterbein Twilight Invitational. This marks Durr's fourth Athlete of the Week honor, earning two in indoor track and one last season.
Durr successfully completed all his throws over 57 meters, or approximately 187 feet, with two over 60 meters, or approximately 197 feet, for his best throw in the hammer all season and his second-best in his career. At the time of posting, Durr ranks fourth in the nation.
Durr and the Quakers will compete on Saturday at Williams Stadium for the second JennaStrong Invitational.
