(WESTERVILLE, Ohio/CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.) – The Wilmington College women's track & field team competed at the Otterbein Twilight meet today, while
Faith Duncan competed in the 5000 Meter Run at the Virginia Challenge, hosted by the University of Virginia. At Otterbein, Wilmington finished in sixth place as a team with 54.5 points.
In Virginia, Duncan finished seventh against all Division I athletes in the 5000 Meter Run with a personal best outdoor time of 16:12.17. This time puts her first in Division III in the event by just under 17 seconds.
The Quakers best overall event at Otterbein was the Hammer Throw, where four Quakers scored.
Amy Myers finished second with a personal best mark by nearly three meters at 48.37m on her third attempt for eight points.
Lucy Trout took third for six points with a throw of 47.86m in her third attempt. Bowen set a new personal best mark at 47.16m on her third attempt for a fifth-place finish and four points.
Kaitlynn Hickey was eighth at 40.33m on attempt four for one point.
Bowen also took third in the Discus Throw with a personal best toss by over a meter at 41.98m on her last attempt to score six points.
Chloe Lovett won the 400 Meter Hurdles with a personal best time of 1:03.99 for 10 points. This time currently ties her for 29th in Division III this season.
Hayden Setty ran a new personal best 800 Meter time at 2:19.60 to finish sixth and score three points for the Quakers.
Sophia Hardwick scored in both the 400 Meter Hurdles and Javelin Throw for the Quakers. She tied for seventh in the 400 Hurdles with a personal best time of 1:09.90 for 1.5 points. In the Javelin, she hit 27.18m on her second toss of the day for eighth place and one point.
Wilmington's final two individual finishers were
Haley Cook in the 400 Meter Dash and
Kyla Rush in the Triple Jump. Cook finished the 400 in 59.49 seconds for seventh place and two points. Rush competed in the Triple Jump for the first time collegiately and leaped 10.06m on her fourth attempt for seventh place and two points.
The Quakers 4x400 Relay Team of Lovett, Cook, Setty, and Hardwick won with the program's best time of the season at 4:02.77 for 10 points.
