(MARYVILLE, Tenn.) – The Wilmington College women's track & field team competed in an unscored Scots Invitational the last two days, hosted by Maryville College (Tenn.).
The Quakers most successful overall event was the Hammer Throw, where they had the top four finishers in
Lucy Trout,
Amy Myers,
Kaitlynn Hickey, and
Mykell Bowen yesterday. Trout hit 45.48m on her final throw of the day, while Myers had a toss of 43.40m on her fourth throw. Hickey smashed her previous personal best by over three meters with a mark of 42.83m on her third attempt. Bowen had a toss of 42.47m on her fourth attempt.
Precious Orock and
Peyton Robey finished fourth and fifth for Wilmington in the Shot Put, respectively. Orock hit 10.00m on her last throw of the day while Robey had an outdoor personal best shot put toss of 9.84m in her last attempt.
Five Quakers finished in the top eight of the Discus Throw. Bowen won with a mark of 36.30m on her fourth throw. Myers hit 33.22m on her last attempt to finish in fourth place while
Ashton Harris bested her mark from last week at 31.28m on attempt four for fifth place. Robey had a toss of 29.15m in her second attempt to finish in sixth and Hickey hit 28.36 on her first attempt of the day for seventh place.
Sophia Hardwick had success in both the 100- and 400-Meter Hurdles today. She ran under 17 seconds for the first time at 16.77 seconds in the 100 hurdles for a second-place finish. She competed in the 400 hurdles for the first time collegiately and finished in a time of 1:10.75 for second place.
Hayden Setty,
Chloe Sutton, and
Haley Cook all finished third in their respective events today. Setty ran in the 1500 Meter Run for the first time collegiately and finished with a time of 5:33.68. Sutton was second in the 100 Meter Dash qualifiers at 13.09 seconds before taking third in the finals at 13.14 seconds. Cook ran the 800 Meter Run in 2:27.95.
Cook also won the Long Jump with a leap of 4.85m on her very first attempt.
Kyla Rush was fifth with a jump of 4.62m on her first attempt.
Jaineen Smith ran a new personal best time in the 200 Meter Dash of 28.30 seconds for fifth place.
The Quakers 4x100 and 4x400 Meter Relay teams both finished first. The team of Rush, Cook,
Chloe Lovett, and Sutton set a season best time of 49.96 seconds to win by nearly four seconds.
The team of Setty, Lovett, Sutton, and Cook won by nearly three seconds in the 4x400 with a new season best time of 4:09.59.
