(GREENWOOD, Ind.) – The College Sports Communicators (CSC), formerly known as the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), announced their Men's Basketball Academic All-District teams this afternoon and the Quakers had four players honored.
To be eligible, you must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.50 GPA, and must have played in 90 percent or started 66 percent of your team's games this season.
Seniors
Bryce Bird,
Gavin Heimlich, and
Nick Malagreca Jr. were honored alongside sophomore
Ben Golan. Bird and Heimlich earn the second honor of their careers, while Malagreca Jr. and Golan are honored for the first time. These four were also named Academic-All Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) last week.
Bird is a Business Administration-Finance major who appeared in all 25 games for the Quakers this season, starting 11 of them. He scored 115 points, grabbed 24 rebounds, and dished out 20 assists.
Heimlich is an Education-Middle Childhood major that started 23 games for the Quakers this season. He scored 78 points, grabbed 92 rebounds, and blocked 26 shots.
Malagreca Jr. is a Sport Management and Business Administration-Management major who appeared in 24 games for the Quakers this season. He scored 19 points, grabbed 38 rebounds, and dished out nine assists.
Golan is an Education and History major who appeared in all 25 games for the Quakers this season. He scored 138 points, grabbed 61 rebounds, and dished out 20 assists this season.
