(ADA, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's track & field team concluded the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships this afternoon in fifth place with 56 team points. The Quakers improve after finishing in sixth place at the meet last season.
Junior
Faith Duncan completed her undefeated individual weekend with a win in the Mile and the 3000 Meter Run. She won the mile in 4:56.93, and just missed out on the OAC record time of 4:56.48, set by Emily Richards of Ohio Northern University in 2017. The next closest time was Alyssa Vis of John Carroll University at 5:05.15. This is Duncan's second straight season being All-OAC in the event and first time winning. She is now tied for 15th nationally in the event.
Duncan also won the 3000 Meter Run with a time of 9:50.04, crushing the old OAC record from Otterbein University's Sydney Smith of 10:02.93 in 2021. Gianini Venuto of the University of Mount Union took second place at 10:22.15. This is the second season in a row that Duncan won the 3000 Meter Run, as she is still the national leader in the event. Duncan was also named the Women's Distance Runner of the Meet.
The other two events to score points for Wilmington this afternoon was the 4x400 Relay and the 4x200 Relay. The team of

Haley Cook,
Sophia Hardwick, and
Hayden Setty finished in a time of 4:08.37 to take fourth place and score five points. In the 4x200, Lovett, Cook,
Chloe Sutton, and Setty ran a season best time of 1:48.76 for a fifth-place finish and four points.
What's Up Next
The majority of the team ends their indoor season and will prepare for outdoor season. However, some Quakers will compete in a last chance meet at Ohio Northern next Saturday, as the look to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
