(ADA, Ohio) – The Wilmington College Women's Track & Field team concluded day one at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Indoor Championships Friday night in fourth place with 27 points.
The Quakers were led by
Faith Duncan, who had the lone victory for the Quakers in the 5000 Meter Run. She won the event by over 53 seconds with a time of 17:16.20, while Abby Schroff of John Carroll University finished second at 18:09.26. This is the first time Duncan won the 5000 Meter Run at the indoor OAC Championships and is her third indoor All-OAC honor and second indoor conference championship (3000 Meter Run, 2024).
The Quakers Distance Medley Relay team of
Haley Cook,
Chloe Lovett,
Hayden Setty, and Duncan finished second in the event with a time of 12:29.50, finishing behind the University of Mount Union at 12:25.69.
Wilmington had a pair of scorers in the Weight Throw in
Mykell Bowen and
Lucy Trout. Bowen finished in fifth place with a personal best toss of 15.10m on her fifth throw, while Trout took sixth with a mark of 14.98m on her fourth attempt. This is both of their first times scoring at the OAC indoor championships.
The Quakers final scorer was
Haley Cook, who took seventh for a pair of points in the 400 Meter Dash. She ran the race in 1:00.36, finishing just behind Mount Union's Halle Cochran, who finished in 1:00.08. This is Cook's second straight year scoring in the 400, taking fourth with a time of 59.67 seconds last season.
