(SPRINGFIELD, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's track & field team opened their 2025-26 indoor season today at the unscored Tiger Opener, hosted at Wittenberg University.
The Quakers most impressive event of the day was the Weight Throw, where they had the top four finishers and five of the top eight.
The winner of the event was senior transfer
Amber Corll, who hit 14.87m on her third attempt of the event. This is a new personal best for Corll, as she had never been better than 14.00m in her career.
Finishing behind her was junior
Mykell Bowen, who had a throw of 14.36m in her fourth attempt. Senior
Amy Myers took third at 14.05m while freshman
Jana Metz debuted in fourth place at 13.61m. Senior
Kaitlynn Hickey finished in eighth place at 12.57m on her final throw.
Hickey also set a new personal best Shot Put throw of 11.69m on her fourth attempt to finish in second place in the event for the Quakers.
Finishing in the top eight of two events for Wilmington was freshman
Andria Pollazek. She cleared 1.59m in the High Jump on her final try to finish in third place. This clearance would have been good for fourth place last year at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Indoor Championships.
She also finished the long jump at 4.88m on her second and third attempts, while sophomore
Kyla Rush set an indoor personal best jump in the event at 4.89m for sixth place.
Junior
Hayden Setty and freshman
Bryauna Bailey finished fourth and fifth in the 800 Meter Run. Setty finished in 2:29.81 while Bailey crossed the line in 2:38.32.
Freshman
Morgan Blair was third in the 5000 Meter Run at 18:19.03, which would have been good for fifth last season at the OAC Indoor Championships.
