Sondre Haugen was selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week this afternoon for the fourth time in his career.
Haugen was crucial in Wilmington's season opening 116-73 win over Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday. The senior won two individual events in the 200 Yard Freestyle and the 100 Yard Butterfly. In the 200 Yard Freestyle, he set a pool record time of 1:43.43 and won the competition by over 14 seconds. Haugen won the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 52.26 and won by over six seconds. His 200 Yard Freestyle relay team also won by almost 16 seconds at 1:32.64 as his 50 Yard Free leg of 21.80 was the fastest of the race.Â
