(CINCINNATI, Ohio) - Amy Myers wins her first collegiate event, throwing 13.90m in the Weight Throw and
Faith Duncan continues her dominance as the top collegiate competitor this year in every race she runs, winning the 1500m and 3000m on the Quakers way to winning the MSJ Lions Invitational on Saturday in Cincinnati.
Myers was one of five Quakers to finish in the top 7 of the weight throw, along side
Mykell Bowen in third,
Lucy Trout in fourth, Kaitlyn Hickey in sixth and
Peyton Robey in seventh, scoring 27 of the Quakers' 105 points, just in this event.
Duncan added 20 individual points, winning the 1500m by 35 seconds and the 3000m by 88 seconds and 10 relay team points, anchoring the distance medley relay with
Hayden Setty,
Chloe Lovett and
Haley Cook. The relay team won the race by 113 seconds, finishing with a time of 13:15.
Other notable performances include
Haley Cook finishing second in the 200,
Sophia Hardwick finished fourth in the 60m Hurdles, the 1600m Relay team of Cook, Hardwick, Lovett and Setty finishing in fourth, and
Kyla Rush finishing third in the Triple Jump. Hickey finished fourth in the Shot Put.
