Atkinson and Reigelsperger Sweep OAC Player of the Week Awards

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) - Men's Lacrosse swept the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Athlete of the Week honors, as Skoebie Atkinson was named Defensive Player of the Week and Garrett Reigelsperger earned Offense Player of the Week recognition. This is the first time the Quakers have swept both the offensive and defensive player of the week awards.

Between the pipes, the freshman goalkeeper Atkinson anchored two victories for the Quakers last week, extending Wilmington's win streak to three. Against Brevard College on Thursday, Atkinson made seven saves and allowed four goals in a 16-4 victory. Tied 4-4 at halftime, the goalie and his defense shutout Brevard in the second half. On Saturday against Franciscan, Atkinson made nine saves in a 15-9 victory for Wilmington. Across both contests, the freshman has accounted for four total groundballs.

Reigelsperger's historic performance on Thursday against Brevard earned him his first Offensive Player of the Week nod. The sophomore scored 10 goals, including eight in the second half, to tie the program record for the most goals ever scored in single game program history.

The Quakers travel to Spalding University (Ky.) on Wednesday for a 6:00 P.M. clash.
