(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) - A gorgeous morning at the Louisville Classic on Saturday provided the scene for an incredible day for Wilmington Women's Cross Country, as virtually every Quaker came home with either a season's best or all-time best time.
As has become habit, sophomore
Morgan Blair led the Quakers over the finish line, taking 13th place overall and crushing her previous personal best. In the process, she firmly established herself as a top-ten all-time female runner in Wilmington history–her time of 23:06 ranks as the seventh-best 6k Cross-country performance in program history.
Senior
Hayden Setty was the second Quaker to finish, claiming 68th place with a time of 24:36, her best performance of the season by more than twenty seconds and a near full-minute improvement from her time at last year's Louisville Classic. The Quakers third woman was freshman
Sophia France, who took 127th place with a time of 26:02, the best performance of her young career by nearly thirty seconds.
Claiming the Quakers fourth position was sophomore
DaShae Washington, who placed 156th with a time of 27:26, good for a fifty-second personal best and an improvement of almost three full minutes from her 2025 Louisville Classic race. Close behind her was fellow sophomore
Addison Naus, who was 159th with a time of 27:37, more than two minutes faster than her previous season's best.
In 187th for the Quakers was junior
Heather Dutenhaver, who ran a personal best time of 29:33 and improved her previous best on the Louisville Classic course by more than two minutes. Concluding the scoring for the Quakers was freshman
Etta Moore, who narrowly ran a personal best with a time of 30:39.
The numerous personal bests led the Quakers to a sixteenth-place team finish, a strong mark at an extremely competitive meet, and the cherry on top of an unforgettable performance. The Quakers will look to ride this momentum into their home meet, the JennaStrong Fall Classic on October 16th.
