(SPRINGFIELD, Ohio) - The Wilmington College men's track & field team competed in the Steemer Showcase at Wittenberg University today and finished in eleventh place with 22 points.
Gabe Moore got the Quakers off to a hot start for the day by placing fifth in the Men's 5000 Meter Run and setting a personal record of 14:52:00. Moore is the fifth athlete in Wilmington College history to finish under 15:00 in the 5000 meter run. The 14:52:00 mark demolishes the senior's previous best of 15:05.42 from last season.
Brendan Bornemann ran extremely well today. He set a personal best with a 1:09.61 in the Men's 500 Dash to finish in seventh place. The junior's previous best was 1:09.68, which he achieved last season. Bornemann also was a part of Wilmington's two best relay teams.
The Quakers relay teams were dominant this Saturday. The 4x400 Relay team finished fourth overall and third in the heat. The grouping of Bornemann, Donovan Mosley, Keegan Kidd, and Griffin Roell ran a 3:25.73
The 4x200 Meter Relay team finished second in their heat and eighth overall with a 1:31.77 led by Darryl Story, De'Anta Sanon, Bornemann, and Mosley. This is the fastest time in nearly a decade for Wilmington.
Freshman Larreon Brodie finished fifth in the Weight Throw with a 16.97m throw on his fourth attempt. This passes the freshman's mark from last week and is his second longest mark of the year.
