(CINCINNATI, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's track & field team competed at the MoJoe Invite today, hosted at Mount St. Joseph University. They finished in third place with 104 points.
Tate Yoder and
Gabe Moore finished first and second in the 3000 Meter Run. Yoder finished in 8:54.32 while Moore crossed the line in 9:01.44. Freshman
Ethan DeRoest ran a season best 9:36.00 for sixth place and
Simeon Williamson came across in a season best 9:36.72 for eighth place.
The Quakers had a trio of athletes either finish in third place or tie for third in an event. Junior
Keegan Kidd took third in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:06.31. Also scoring in the event were freshman
Griffin Roell in fifth at 2:09.48 and sophomore
Blake Kanniard in seventh with a time of 2:15.28.
Freshman
Larreon Brodie finished third in the Weight Throw with a mark of 16.80m on his fifth attempt. In the High Jump, sophomore
Trey Sparks tied for third with a clearance of 1.85m on his second attempt after clearing 1.75m and 1.80m.
In the Mile, Williamson finished fourth and bested his time from last week, crossing the line in 4:45.56. After a time of 7.31 in the prelims qualified him for the finals, senior
De'Anta Sanon ran a 7.15 for fourth place in the 60 Meter Dash.
Freshman
Samuel McEntire took fifth place in the Long Jump with a leap of 5.92 meters on his third attempt. Junior
Elijah Newman was eighth in the Shot Put with a mark of 12.99m on his first throw.
