This comes after a weekend in which he competed against some of the best throwers in the country, regardless of division, at the Tiffin University Robinson Family Open. He finished seventh in the event with a personal best toss of 19.65m on his final attempt.
The winner of the event, Ryan Johnson of the University of Iowa, hit a mark of 24.59m, which is good for third in Division I this season. Borgan's mark is fourth in Division III.
He will look to improve on his throw before heading into the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, beginning on March 14th in Rochester, New York.
