(WILMINGTON, Ohio) - Junior linebacker Gavan Hunter was selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Defensive Player of the Week this afternoon for the second time in his career. He last received honors during his sophomore season.
Hunter closed Wilmington's season with a historic performance. The junior made 21 tackles on the day, tied for the second most in program history. He had 18 tackle assists and three solo tackles, with 1.5 tackles for a loss and a pass breakup in the Quakers' 28-27 loss to Capital. His tackle assists and solo tackles are season highs.
The junior appeared in all 10 games and ended the season with new career highs of 80 tackles, 47 tackle assists, 33 solo tackles, and two tackles for loss with two pass breakups.
