WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College mens lacrosse team wins their second in a row, defeating Anderson (Indiana) in Saturday's afternoon home contest at Williams Stadium, winning 15-7. Led by senior midfielder Zac Chucta, and senior Attacker Connor Judge, the Fightin' Quakers took control immediately outscoring the Ravens 9-1 in the first half despite only winning 3-of-12 face-offs and three ground balls that half.

That senior duo, along with new comer Justen Shaw, would all score in the first quarter putting Wilmington up 4-1 and setting the tone for the rest of the game. Johnathan Havener of Anderson scored with just one minute remaining in the first off an assist from Tristan Wilbrandt. With just 15 seconds left, however, the Ravens allowed Conner Judge to sprint coast to coast off a clear attempt from a missed shot, and score with only six seconds remaining.

The Quakers continued to dominate as they scored five unanswered goals in the second quarter.  Mason Bilinovich, Sophmore Attacker, scored his first of the season in under a minute. Wilmington took a 9-1 lead into halftime.

The third quarter continued in Wilmington's favor, as it outscoring Anderson 4-2 and distancing themselves even further, 13-3.  Two bright spots came by the hands of Johnathan Havener (second goal) and Cole Whatley for Anderson as they were able to squeak by a pair of goals past Wilmington goalkeeper, Jeremy Hatton.  The first coming halfway in the third and the second in the last minute.

Cole Whatley scored first in the fourth quarter, trying to rally the Ravens.  The attackers second goal was not a deterrent as Wilmington scored two more times before the game was over.  The Quakers did give up three goals in the last two minutes.

Overall, Wilmington outscored Bethany 15-7 and outshot Anderson 41-34 and were successful in 22-of-23 clear attempts. The Quakers also controlled the turnovers, only losing the ball 12 times compared to Anderson's 18 times.

The men's lacrosse team, 2-0, heads to Earlham College for the Quaker Bowl Rivalry game next week.
