Men's Lacrosse Handles Mount St. Joseph 20-3

DELPHI, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team won in a lopsided affair 20-3 against Mt. St. Joseph University on Tuesday evening. The Quakers will take on Mount Union in this season's first Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest at home on Saturday, March 24 at 1 p.m.

Wilmington came out aggressively on both ends of the field. Offensively, three different players scored including two goals from Jhordan Lang and Connor Judge. By the end of the first quarter, the Fightin' Quakers led 5-1. The second quarter was much of the same offensively as Lang, Judge and Andrew Miller led the way again with two goals each. The Lions were able to put in two goals of their own through the second, but that wasn't enough to keep the Quakers from increasing their lead to 11-3 at the half.

The second half was a shutout as the Quakers did not give up a single goal over the 30 minutes. The offense went on a 9-0 run to end the half with a 20-3 win against the Lions. Defensively, the Quakers forced 31 Lions turnovers with Jadon Flannery having a team-high of four caused turnovers.

Wilmington was led offensively by Lang scoring nine goals and three assists on one on 26 shots. Lang came one goal short of tying his own single-game record of 10 goals. Judge had a career day scoring six goals, the most in any game of his career. Miller added three goals and two assists on five shots. Defensively, Tanner Diment picked up 15 ground balls and went 18-20 on face-offs. In addition to Diment, Michael Acquaviva, Eric Wathen, and Andre Chin caused three turnovers each. Goalie, Jake Ladendorf had a stellar day in goal making six saves on nine shots.

Wilmington (3-3) will open up conference play at home against Mount Union on Saturday, March 24, at 1 p.m.
