@DubC_MSoccer falls to Mount Union

ALLIANCE – The Wilmington College men's soccer team was officially eliminated from Ohio Athletic Conference tournament contention with a 2-1 loss to Mount Union Saturday in OAC action.

The Purple Raiders scored the game winner in the 84th minute, less than 12 minutes after Wilmington scored the equalizer.

Senior Nick Toney (Morrow, OH/Little Miami) tallied his ninth goal of the season, netting the equalizing goal in the 73rd minute. Toney was aggressive offensively, launching seven of Wilmington's 18 shots with five on goal.

Statistically, the Fightin' Quakers seemingly dominated play – outshooting Mount Union, 18-12, and getting more shots on frame, 11-6.

Senior Jesse Buhrman (Westlake, OH/Westlake) added four shots on goal for the Fightin' Quakers.

Freshman Nick Latessa (Englewood, OH/Northmont) allowed two goals on five shots in 86 minutes of action.

Wilmington (4-13 overall, 1-6 OAC) hosts Muskingum 7 p.m. Wednesday.
