Men's tennis shut out by Heidelberg

DAYTON – The Wilmington College men's tennis team was shutout by Heidelberg in Ohio Athletic Conference action Sunday.

Jesse Ingels (Morrow, OH/Little Miami) played the closest match of the day, falling in fifth singles, 6-4, 6-4. Connor LaVelle (Athens, OH/Athens) took his second match into a tiebreaker before falling 6-1, 7-6 in second singles.

Justin Arehart (Wilmington, OH/Wilmington) fell in first singles, 6-0, 6-2; Josh Kincaid (Loveland, OH/Goshen) lost, 6-3, 6-1, in third singles; Cullen Corcoran (Wilmington, OH/Clinton-Massie) was defeated in fourth singles, 6-1, 6-0; and Ron Sansome (Norwood, OH/Norwood) fell, 6-0, 6-0, in sixth singles.

In doubles action, Arehart/Kincaid lost, 8-6, in first doubles; Corcoran/LaVelle lost in second doubles, 8-1; and Ingels/Sansome fell in third doubles, 8-2.

Wilmington (1-10) faces Muskingum 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilmington College tennis courts.
