(GRANVILLE, Ohio) – The Wilmington men's tennis team concluded a busy weekend this afternoon at the Big Red Invite, hosted at Denison University.
Four Quakers were in action in junior

Jose Tapia, and
Juan Pablo Del Rincon.
Leading the charge in singles play for Wilmington were Morla and Lazaga Robayna. Morla finished 3-0 with wins over The College of Wooster's Jack Currie Welch (6-1, 3-6, 11-9), Otterbein University's Arthur Porto (6-2, 6-4) and Nathan Walter (6-2, 6-1).
Lazaga Robayna was 2-1 this weekend in singles action with wins over Wooster's Sammy Jang (6-1, 6-2) and Otterbein's Nathan Walter (6-3, 6-2).
Also picking up their first singles wins at Wilmington were
Jose Tapia over Wooster's Andrew Wissman (6-3, 6-4) and
Juan Pablo Del Rincon against Ohio Northern University's Jakub Wierzba (4-5 ret.).
The Quakers two doubles teams finished 2-1 during the weekend. Tapia and Morla defeated a pair of Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) teams in Ohio Northern's Roberto Mucarsel/Jakub Wierzba, 6-4 and Otterbein's Arthur Porto/Nathan Walter, 6-1.
Del Rincon and Lazaga Robayna beat Wooster's Jack Currie-Welch/Thomas Ishikawa, 6-0 and the same Cardinals squad of Porto/Walter, 6-3.
"After not getting the results we hoped for at Regionals, the guys did a great job of bouncing back and winning 8 of 10 matches on day one at Denison," said Quakers Head Coach
Jayson Wiseman. "I'm also proud of how we competed on day two despite a lot of hours logged traveling and playing over four days. I have a lot of confidence that we are only going to continue to improve from this performance."
